Synopsis: What was once the western United States
is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors.
Born into an elite family in one of the Republic’s wealthiest districts,
fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic’s
highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the
country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they
seem.
From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross
paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the
prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race
for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a
shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought
them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its
secrets.
Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is
sure to move readers as much as it thrills.
I finished reading Legend by Marie Lu litterly a couple of minutes ago,and I absolutely LOVED it!
First off,I absolutely loved the writing style! It switched from the point of view of Day and June.I favored Day's POV because he was the guy and I don't really read a lot of books in guys POV.Also, his POV was so much funnier than June's and also so much cliche.I really like cliche books.
Now June.Pretty much the only main character from a book I've actually LIKED.Her decisions and reactions are so understandable. She's not like the other female main characters from other books that randomly throw themselves in danger to find "answers" to things they want to understand.June also is pretty smart for a fifteen year old.Even though Day tells her otherwise, she kept believing what she has been taught since birth, until she had evidence to prove otherwise.
I really liked this book! It's probably one of my favorite books (no love triangle, awesome protagonists, what more could I ask for?).I give this 5/5 stars (obviously) and cannot wait for the second book to come out!
