Synopsis: In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last
found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue
forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of
the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the
street—and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s
powers for his own dark ends.
With the help of the handsome, self-destructive
Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on
the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that
shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from
mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the
slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of
her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a
clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister
himself knows their every move—and that one of their own has betrayed
them.
Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing
for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is
changing in Will—the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could
finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about
who she is and what she was born to do?
As their dangerous search for the
Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love
and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It's safe to say I have
never read a series similair to the Infernal Devices.I usually don't read a lot
of YA historical fantasy because there always just SO BORING-except for this
series,of course.
Though I did love this book,I did have
a few problems.Particularly with the love triangle. One chapter Tessa will
"love" Will, then the next Jem.I just don't get it.Especially towards the end of
the book.Yes,I know Will's actions made her confused and she was attracted to
Jem's kindness, some of the decisions she made I did not get.At all.I feel like
the love triangle in this book progressed very slowly,as with all the love
triangles in books.
Anyway,onto Will.Will
is by far my favorite character in the book.In Clockwork Prince you learn so
much more about him-his past, why he did what he did,his family etc. He's no
longer the dark, elusive character we met in Clockwork Angel-sorta.Yes,he is
still semi elusive but not as much. There are some parts in the book, where Will's
actions madee the other characters in the book reconsider if it was actually him
(if that makes any since). His personality definitely changed throughout this
book which I absouloutely LOVED.By the end of this book he was no longer the
elusive Will everyone thought hated everyone.
Now Jem.I never really liked Jem and thought Tessa should end up with Will
for mulitple reasons.Reason 1,he's too sweet.Yes sweet, call me crazy but he is
just too nice for Tessa. And I'm not saying Tessa should end up with an abusive,
too-good-for anyone else
type of guy.I'm just saying Jem's so
sweet it's corny.I don't know if it's just me or what, but in every book that
has a love triangle, one half of it is always sweet and corny.I don't know if
it's just me (it probably is) but I hope in the final book Tessa ends up with
Will and they live happily ever after :D. Reason 2 he's dying.I don't know if
they told you in Clockwork Angel (I sure hope so!) but Jem is addicted to this
drug,Yin Fen I think it's called.Anyways,I'm not saying that just because he has
a disease Tessa can't love him.I'm saying that if Tessa were to be in a
relationship with him,she could only be with him for a couple of years before he
dies.
Overall I loved this book! It's my
favorite book of all time! I give it 5/5 stars! I cannot wait how all this
concludes in Clockwork Princess!
